Repenta formed towards the end of 2002 and are a three piece consisting of a guitarist, bassist and drummer, each member contributing to vocal duties. Repenta began as a grungy gospel band playing their favourite punk, grunge and rock favorites with lyrics altered slightly for performances at christian youth events and contemporary church services but also play the same tunes in their original form at pub gigs. Repenta originated at St Andrews Lutheran College at West Burleigh on the Gold Coast and regulary perform at Sunday night services and school events. Their mix of songs includes contemporary worship songs, powerpop and punk favourites and their own compositions. Repenta are quite unique, bass player Jordan is only 15 years of age and possibly one of the youngest recording artists around. Guitarist Rohan is a veteran of late eighties indie Adelaide bands on the infamous Greasy Pop label and drummer Graeme is a school Chaplain. Repenta has released 2 CD singles in 2004, ‘Feathers’ and ‘You Give’. |
